Managing Your Pet's Records in Hospet

Hospet’s Records feature helps you store and manage important documents related to your pet’s care — including vet visit summaries, lab results, discharge instructions, and specialist reports. Think of it as your central hub for medical files, giving you peace of mind that everything is in one place, ready when you need it.

Whether you're coordinating care with multiple providers or simply want to stay organized, Records helps ensure nothing gets lost in the shuffle.

What Can I Use Records For?

You can upload documents such as:

  • Veterinary visit summaries
  • Lab and diagnostic reports
  • Surgery or hospital discharge instructions
  • Specialist consultations (e.g., oncology, neurology)
  • Care plans, treatment notes, and more

Each record includes:

  • Name – A title to help you identify the record later
  • Date – Defaults to today’s date, but can be changed
  • Category – To help with sorting and searching
  • Description – Optional notes for context or reminders
  • One or more files – You can attach several related files to a single record

Available Categories

When uploading a record, choose the category that best describes it:

  • Veterinary Records – General notes from vet visits and exams
  • Lab Results – Bloodwork, urinalysis, or other diagnostics
  • Discharge Instructions – Post-procedure or hospital recovery guides
  • Specialist Reports – Consultations from referred care providers
  • Miscellaneous – Any other files you want to store (e.g., nutrition plans, behavior logs)

How Do I Upload a Record?

  1. Open your pet’s profile
  2. Tap the “Records” tab at the bottom of the screen
  3. Select “Add Record”
  4. Fill in the name, date, category, and optional description
  5. Upload one or more files (maximum size: 5MB per file)
  6. Save the record

Supported file types include PDFs, Word docs, spreadsheets, plain text, and common image formats like JPG and PNG.

Who Can See My Records?

Only you can see your pet’s records by default. Nothing is shared automatically.

If you’d like to share documents with your Support Team, you can do so easily:

  • Use Email All Results to send every record you've added
  • Use Email Selected to send only the files you choose

You’ll also be able to include a custom message for context or instructions.

What Happens When You Share

Your Support Team will receive an email with secure links to download the records. These links are valid for 7 days, after which you'll need to resend them if needed.

File Security and Privacy

Your pet’s records are encrypted and stored securely and are only accessible to you — and to those you intentionally choose to share them with.

When you email documents to your Support Team, the download links are protected with temporary security tokens, ensuring they can only be accessed by the intended recipients. This helps keep your pet’s private medical information safe while still allowing for smooth collaboration.

Managing Your Records

  • You can edit a record’s name, date, description, or category anytime.
  • You can delete a record if it's no longer needed — but please note that deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
