Hospet Connect is a free tool for veterinarians, doulas, and other pet care professionals who want to support clients navigating complex medical conditions and/or end-of-life care.
By activating a Hospet Connect account, you can connect with clients through a secure, streamlined platformâand gain read-only access to the pet health data they choose to share with you.
â Who Is Hospet Connect For?
Hospet Connect is built for any professional who plays a role in pet caregiving, including:
- Veterinarians
- In-home euthanasia providers
- Companion animal doulas
- Specialty clinics (e.g., oncology, rehab)
- Groomers or trainers supporting senior or palliative pets
đ What Are the Benefits?
With a Hospet Connect account, you can:
Allow clients to easily add you as a member of their support team via a link, referral code, or QR scan
Access real-time pet data (with client consent), including:
- Quality of Life assessments
- Daily ratings
- Weights
- Annotations
- Events and Records (unless marked private)
- Review analytical charts and trends to better understand the petâs history and needsâeven if the client is on the free Hospet plan
- Save time by reviewing updates before appointments or outreach
- Build deeper trust with clients by staying informed on their terms
Hospet Connect is completely free for providers.
đ§ How the Referral Process Works
Each Hospet Connect account comes with three tools to make it easy for your clients to connect and sync with you:
đ Referral Link
Youâll receive a personalized URL you can share via email, on your website, or printed materials. When clients click this link:
- They're directed to the âImport Providerâ page
- They can choose to automatically share pet data with you
- Once confirmed, youâll appear in their Support Team list with a âSynced with Providerâ badge
đ§Ÿ Referral Code
Clients can also go to their Support Team page and click âImport From Referral Codeâ, then enter your code to complete the sync.
đ± QR Code (Mobile Only)
For in-person or printed handouts, clients using the iOS or Android app can tap âImport from QR Codeâ and scan your code.
đ If a client adds you manually (without using your link/code/QR), they will not be able to enable automatic data sharing until they complete one of these sync actions. This is to prevent you from getting sent repeat emails from Hospet without your explicit consent
đ What Is the Client Dashboard?
Once a client has added you and chosen to share data, youâll see them appear in your Client List.
Accessing the Client List
- Log into your Hospet Connect account
- Click âHospet Connectâ in the main menu
- Select âClient Listâ
- Use the search to find clients by name, email, or pet name
Only clients who have shared data with you will appear in this list.
Viewing Pet Data
Clicking on a pet name opens the Client Dashboard, which is a read-only mirror of the clientâs view. Youâll see:
- Daily Ratings
- Quality of Life Assessments
- Weights
- Annotations
- Shared Events and Records (except those marked Private)
Youâll also have access to analytical data and graphs, even if the client is using a free plan.
Privacy Protections
Clients can mark individual Events and Records as Private. When marked private:
- These items are completely hidden from your view
- There is no indication that something was withheld
This ensures clients remain in full control of whatâs shared, and that trust is preserved.
đ Data Permissions and Ethics
Hospet Connect is built with privacy, dignity, and consent at its core. Clients:
- Must choose to share pet data with you
- Can stop sharing at any time by removing you as a Support Team member or by choosing to not share their pet's data with you automatically
- Can mark specific entries (Records/Events) as private
